In the therapeutic Performance Troupe class, students will collaborate with peer mentors from the Dance and Music Academy to learn and create a dance repertoire in preparation for performances in the community. Dancers will learn a variety of styles, including musical theatre, modern, and jazz dance. There will be several performance opportunities in the community for students to create and perform material that celebrates their abilities and encourages personal growth.
This troupe will be focused on:
- Expanding students’ dance knowledge and movement repertoire through the exploration of different dance and music genres.
- Increasing confidence, self-expression, and interpersonal skills, which are often gained through the creative process and performance
- Increasing flexibility and teamwork as dancers adapt to different performance venues
This program is for students 14+ years old.
